General meeting  2010

 

On 16th September 2010 the 74 members of Ordo socialis were invited for the general meeting at Cologne. The protocol of the meeting is already send to each member.

Joseph Höffner: “Christian Social Teaching“ now also available in Chinese

 

Ordo socialis is pleased to inform that the “Christian Social Teaching” by Joseph Cardinal Höffner has been published in Chinese in Shanghai.  ISBN-978-7-5617-7716-9

 

This was a troublesome business. First of all the translation into Chinese caused some difficulties. More problems arose with the publication by a Chinese publisher house. We did wait for a long time for the required authorization of such publications. But at the beginning of 2010 time had come. The book has been published in cooperation of Ordo socialis with VI Horae publishers in Shanghai and East China Normal University Press Ltd.

 

In a second volume, also in Chinese, have been published contributions by Peter H. Werhahn:

“The Entrepreneur” and

Karl-Heinz Peschke: “Social Economy in the Light of Christian Faith” ISBN-978-7-5617-7712-1

 

In the opinion of Josef Thesing, vice-president of Ordo socialis, this is a fine success for Ordo socialis. His engagement in this matter was extraordinary. Further translations of texts by German authors out of the area of Christian Social Teaching will follow. For this we need however financial support.

Zweiter Ökumenischer Kirchentag

 

Vom 12. bis 16. Mai fand in München der Zweite Ökumenische Kirchentag statt.  Ordo socialis war dort zusammen mit dem BKU, der AFOS-Stiftung und dem Arbeitskreis Evangelischer Unternehmer (AEU) auf der AGORA (Markt der Möglichkeiten) in Messehalle B5, Stand-Nr. CO 1/2 vertreten.

Conference on Caritas in veritate:

 

The conference on the new popal encyclical Caritas in veritate which we had convened together with the Joseph Höffner society and the Institute of Catholic Theology of the University of Cologne was positively echoed.
