Ordo socialis is close not only to Catholic social teaching, but also to ordoliberalism in the tradition of Walter Eucken, Wilhelm Röpke and Alfred Müller-Armack on which the social market economy is based. Professor Nils Goldschmidt, economist at the University of Siegen and member of our academic advisory board, and his colleagues Roland Fritz and Matthias Störring unfold the ordoliberalism as attempt to merge liberalism and its contextual embedding into a social philosophy that meets the requirements of both—economy and society.
