Rarely had a convention of the United Nations been expected with so many hopes and apprehensions as were the negotiations in Paris (November 30 to December 11, 2015) on the world climate. The run-up saw a round of tedious or failing meetings – the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, 21st Conference of the Parties, in short:COP21 coupled with the 11th Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, in short CMP11.
